Keeping The San Francisco Jazz Band Tradition Alive
The Local Edition Jazz Orchestra (LEJO) has kept the big band tradition alive at Local Edition in San Francisco since 2012, with live music every Tuesday from 8 to 11 PM. Led by trumpeter Niel Levonius since 2021, carrying on the tradition of the Fil Lorenz Orchestra, the band draws on a deep library to play everything from 1940s swing and dance music through contemporary and modern jazz. LEJO regularly features internationally known guests, and has backed vocalists Kurt Elling and Billy Valentine and saxophone legend Tom Scott.

A Who's Who of Players
Members of the Local Edition Jazz Orchestra play at the highest level of the jazz art form and have performed with Seal, Gladys Knight, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Zac Brown, Muse, Train, Bob Weir, Herbie Hancock, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, San Francisco Symphony.... just to name a few.

Rightsizing The Band
LEJO performs weekly as a nonet and scales up to a full 16-piece big band on special occasions. For corporate events, galas, holiday parties and private events anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Marin, Napa and Sonoma, Niel Levonius offers horn bands from 3 to 13 horns with a rhythm section, plus PA and a sound engineer.
